From September 2 to September 8, the international ceramic symposium "Design and Wood firing" organized by the LMA Ceramics department will take place for one week with the support of the Cirrus and Nordplus programs.
Students and teachers with professional experience in ceramics from different universities of the Baltic and Nordic countries - Finland, Sweden, Norway, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia - participate in the project; number of participants – 30.
This time, we offer each participant to be inspired by a specific sample of Latvian folk art and create their own modern, 21st century design object.
An intensive program will be implemented during the symposium. It includes lectures, master classes, professional practice, firing of works in a wood-firing kiln in Ikškile, visits to museums, galleries and participation in the POP-UP exhibition.
