EXHIBITION "SEB SCHOLARSHIP IN PAINTING 2024"

The Art Academy of Latvia, in cooperation with the SEB bank, invites viewers to the opening of the exhibition of the finalists' works of "SEB Scholarship in Painting 2024" on 31 October at 5:00 PM the Great Hall of the Art Academy of Latvia.

The group of finalists of the exhibition consists of six artists: Andris Kaļiņins, Gunta Lante, Madara Freidenfelde, Paula Viļuma, Renāte Pagaste and Sofija Frančeska Putniņa.

This year, the SEB Scholarship in Painting competition is taking place for the 16th time with the aim to support students' career development, mastery and creativity.

The award ceremony will take place on 21 November at 17.00 in the LMA Hall, when the winner of the "SEB Scholarship in Painting 2024" will be announced and the winner of the audience's favourite vote will be announced. The winner of the SEB Scholarship will receive EUR 2000 and a visit to a Contemporary Art Fair in a European Union city together with a paid workshop in the city where the fair will take place.

The winner of the "SEB Scholarship in Painting 2024" will be selected by a jury of seven professionals: the Vice-Rector of the Art Academy of Latvia, Professor Andris Vītoliņš, the President of SEB Bank Ieva Tetere, the Head of the Department of Painting at the Art Academy of Latvia Kristians Brekte, the Exhibition Coordinator of the Project and Development Department of the Art Academy of Latvia Inese Rozentāla, Art Consultant and Curator Elīna Drāke, Lecturer of the Department of Painting at the Art Academy of Latvia Amanda Ziemele and 2016 SEB scholarship winner Sandra Strēle.

The winners of the "SEB Scholarship in Painting" competition: Neonilla Medvedeva (2008) Atis Jākobsons (2009), Zane Tuča (2010), Elza Sīle (2011), Laimdota Steķe (2012), Klāvs Loris (2013), Madara Neikena (2014), Zīle Ziemele (2015), Sandra Strēle (2016), Kristaps Priede (2017), Anna Pommere (2018), Krišjānis Elviks (2019), Madara Kvēpa (2020), Alice Builevica (2022) Katrīna Biksone (2023).
