The Promotion Board of the Art Academy of Latvia  (AAL) shall be formed by an order of the rector from experts of the Latvian Council of Science (LZP) for each defence of the thesis, according to the subject of the study. The Council shall have at least five experts. The permanent chairperson of the promotion board shall be an expert on LZP working in teaching and/or scientific work IN THE AAL or in any sub-structure thereof. The Vice-President shall be elected by an open vote. The Scientific Secretary of the Council may also perform his duties without being an expert IN LZP.
