Gļebs Panteļejevs
Head of the Department of Sculpture, Professor
Gļebs Panteļejevs has been working in the profession of a sculptor for more than 30 years, considering it his main job. Since 1989, he has been regularly participating in exhibitions both in Latvia and abroad, as well as working on public and private commissions. Panteļejevs is the author of many urban objects and monumental sculptures, the most significant works - “The Monument to the First Latvian Army Colonel Oskars Kalpaks” and the memorial sign "Black Threshold" near the building of the former Soviet State Security Committee (KGB) in Riga. He has been lecturing at the Art Academy of Latvia since 1992, currently the head of the Department of Sculpture. Works are included in collections in Latvia, Germany and Russia. Re-nominated for Purvītis Award in 2013 and 2021.
